River Rock at a glance
River Rock Casino Resort first opened its doors on June 25, 2004. You will find it on Musqueam lands, 8811 River Road, Richmond.
Great Canadian Entertainment sold the resort in a deal that closed on June 16, 2026. The new owners are a partnership of two groups: Petroglyph Development Group, a corporation of Snuneymuxw First Nation, and Musqueam Capital Corp of the Musqueam Indian Band. As of October 2026, the website was still using the River Rock Casino Resort name.
For news, hours and shows, the venue posts everything on riverrock.com. Questions go to Casino Guest Services at 604-273-1895.
At the door
Same rules as United Boulevard. They apply across the whole province.
Nobody under 19 gets into a BC casino. Every guest, young-looking or not, shows photo ID issued by a government when they arrive. That has been the rule since June 26, 2023.
Security scans the card to see whether the guest is barred from gambling facilities, and that includes Game Break enrollees. BCLC says it keeps no personal information on guests who are let in.
Bring the real card. A photo or a copy will not be accepted.
One more thing: hotel check-in also requires guests to be 19 or older.
Games, poker and the racebook
Here is what River Rock's own site says is on the floor:
| Game | Count |
|---|---|
| Slots | Over 1,100 |
| Electronic table game terminals | 108 |
| Live tables (Great Canadian, June 2026) | More than 80 |
| Poker tables | 10 |
The venue calls its electronic setup the largest selection of Stadium Gaming in British Columbia. To reach the poker room, call 604-247-8983.
Poker and the live tables share one schedule:
| Days | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 10 AM to 4 AM |
| Friday to Monday | Friday 10 AM, open straight through to Monday 4 AM |
In the racebook, guests bet on horse races run at other tracks. No live racing happens here. Doors open at 9 AM every day, and closing time depends on when the last race ends.
River Rock lists hours for tables, poker and the racebook, but not for the casino floor overall. On BCLC's Casinos BC listing, the floor appears as open 24/7. Your Encore Rewards card, from BCLC's loyalty program, works here as well.
Eating, shows and staying over
There are plenty of spots to eat and drink, and the venue posts hours for every one:
- Gordon Ramsay Steak
- KOI
- Rock House Burger & Fries
- Zio's
- Privé Bar
- Starbucks
- Sea Harbour
- The Chairman's Room Lounge
- The Chairman's Room Buffet
- MIKU
- Chopsticks Noodlehouse
For a show, head to The Show Theatre. In June 2026, Great Canadian called it a 1,000-person theatre. Check the Entertainment section of the official site for what is coming up.
Staying the night? The resort has nearly 400 hotel rooms, plus a pool with a water slide, a full-service spa and a marina. A Sky Bridge links the Hotel Tower to the Casino Tower. To book a room, call 604-247-8900.
River Rock next to United Boulevard
These two casinos share part of their ownership. Petroglyph Development Group took over the United Boulevard casino on May 5, 2026, and it is also one of the partners behind River Rock. The numbers below come from each venue's own pages:
| River Rock | United Boulevard | |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | Over 1,100 | Over 920 |
| Electronic table terminals | 108 | 42 |
| Live tables | More than 80 | 37 |
| Poker tables | 10 | 10 |
| Live table hours | Mon–Thu 10 AM–4 AM; Fri 10 AM to Mon 4 AM | Same |
| Hotel | Nearly 400 rooms | Not listed |
You will find a Show Theatre and a Chopsticks noodle spot at both. The Gordon Ramsay name goes on a steakhouse at River Rock, while United Boulevard has it on a burger restaurant.
The quick version: River Rock is larger and built for a night away. United Boulevard is the one down the road. For the other seven casinos in this flyer, see the all nine casinos page.
Planning the trip
As the crow flies, River Rock sits 21.4 km from the United Boulevard casino and 26.2 km from Coquitlam City Centre. For real directions, use TransLink's trip planner or a map.
Taking transit? The Canada Line's Bridgeport Station is roughly 150 m from the casino in a straight line. Driving? Self-parking is reached from River Road, on the casino's west side. Valet is also off River Road. Over-height vehicles go to the East Parkade.
Provincial law bans smoking and vaping indoors at all BC casinos.
