The casino in a few lines
Grand Villa Casino sits at 4331 Dominion St in Burnaby. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment runs it and calls it its flagship property. It is a two-level casino with a hotel and conference centre attached.
From Coquitlam it is not far. It is 15.8 km from Coquitlam City Centre and 12.8 km from the United Boulevard casino, both as the crow flies. For the route itself, TransLink's trip planner or a map will sort it out.
The casino says it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. The main line is 604-436-2211.
Getting in
Grand Villa is for adults. In BC you must be 19 or older to gamble, and people under 19 are not allowed into gambling venues.
Bring photo ID. Since June 26, 2023, every person entering a BC casino has to show government-issued photo ID, whatever their age. Security scans it and checks it against the list of people restricted from entering, such as those enrolled in Game Break. BCLC says the system saves no personal information for people who are let in.
Accepted ID includes a BC or North American driver's licence, a BC Services Card, a BC Identity Card, a passport and a permanent resident card, among others. Originals only; photos and copies are not accepted. The full list is in BCLC's casino FAQ, and the flyer's first visit page walks through the door routine.
On the floor
By the published counts, this is the biggest floor in the flyer. The venue lists over 1,300 slot machines and 67 gaming tables, plus the Pulse electronic gaming arena and VIP gaming.
There is a poker room, open 24 hours daily. The flyer gives no table count, because the venue's own pages show two different numbers. The poker desk takes reservations and questions at 604-453-0858.
Encore Rewards works here. Membership is free; sign up at the Guest Services desk with valid ID.
Food, drink and the rest
Gateway names Personas Patio + Restaurant + Lounge and ATLAS steak + fish among the casino's dining spots. The venue's own site also lists Chow Lucky Noodle Bar, Centro Bar, Alpina Bar + Gaming Lounge and Grand Neptune Seafood Restaurant. The venue publishes hours and menus.
The hotel on site is the Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre, a Marriott property.
Parking is free. A parkade leads right to the front door, and there are several outdoor lots. The casino's free shuttle service is listed as temporarily unavailable, so plan your own way there.
The venue says the facility is accessible to customers with disabilities. Wheelchairs, accessible formats and communication supports are available on request.
